Many of you have likely already seen this but just in case, here is a gallery of the trailer developed by Samsung (or rather the technology on the trailer) that projects the view of cameras on the tractor onto the rear door of the van. This gives the ability to “see through” the trailer to what’s in front.

On the one hand this looks like a great idea making passing safe for everyone…especially those pesky four-wheelers right? On the other hand of course are two things. First, it leaves out anyone not pulling a van at present and second it is likely going to be cost prohibitive for all but larger fleets. Perhaps an alternative might be to incorporate those blow up screens with modified lamps from the rear projection TV days. Near the end those got pretty good and bright and would help flatbed drivers hauling larger loads to participate. This is of course just an idea.
