In October, electric vehicle maker Tesla will join the growing number of semi-tractor manufacturers who are creating electric trucks to pull our nation’s freight. They claim it out-performs and out-pulls its diesel counterparts. The bigger question though seems to be how “autonomous” is it. Though Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims it’s not self-driving at all, some more subtle indications from him and others at Tesla point to its ability to convoy behind another driven truck along with some other features. We’re not sure where you land on this technology, and it likely won’t reach many owner-operators for awhile, but it is coming.
