Recently, one of our team came across this Podcast episode of NPR’s Planet Money. Needless to say this resource doesn’t come up as much in conversations of shipping or transportation equipment. That said, many of the National Public Radio podcasts are fascinating and this one is no exception. They are definitely worth your time and attention if you have about 20 minutes.
This particular episode of Planet Money revolves around the history of the shipping container. It’s origins and the problems it solved then, and solves now. The humble steel box has become the lynch pin of trade in the global economy. Specially designed ships are built to carry it which are among the world’s largest. Nearly all of the goods you purchase are transported in it. And for our purposes, you can use or convert it into a myriad of possibilities. Buy or rent, we can help you make use of these remarkable, yet simple, pieces of equipment.
